An international law firm known for representing major corporations, financial institutions, and funds, is seeking a Billing Supervisor to join their team in Chicago. This role will be hybrid.
The Billing Supervisor leads a team responsible for supporting the invoicing process, which generates over $1 billion in annual client invoices. This role combines leadership, talent management, customer service, and process improvement within a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of Billing Analysts, assigning tasks, ensuring quality and timeliness, resolving issues, and providing training and mentorship.
- Direct daily and monthly priorities, ensuring tasks are completed and communicated effectively.
- Oversee workflow, workload distribution, and operational factors such as staff attrition.
- Address billing issues while adhering to organizational deadlines and policies.
- Evaluate and enhance team practices and processes.
- Support Billing Analysts in understanding complex billing procedures.
- Communicate with partners to resolve billing-related challenges.
- Collaborate with the Regional Billing Manager to implement strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with other business departments (Risk, Pricing, eBilling, etc.).
- Manage eBilling processes and resolve related issues.
- Ensure timely execution of key monthly billing activities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Lead team projects and undertake additional assignments as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least five years of experience in professional services, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior experience in legal billing is preferred; familiarity with Aderant software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
